http://sportstwo.com/NBA/Story/NBA/2814775 Blazers G Roy to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday, August 14, 2008 12:35 AM PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) - Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday to repair a tear in the meniscus of his left knee. An MRI exam on Tuesday revealed the tear in the All-Star guard's knee. Trail Blazers team physician Dr. Don Roberts will perform the surgery at Southwest Washington Regional Surgery Center in Vancouver, Washington. The team said in a statement Wednesday night that it will not set a timetable for Roy's return until after the surgery. The No. 6 overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2006, Roy has a stellar sophomore campaign for Portland, averaging 19.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.8 assists and earning his first All-Star berth. The 6-6 guard averaged 16.8 points and was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2006. The news comes just one day after Portland center Greg Oden, the No. 1 overall pick in 2007, worked out for the media for the first time since his rookie season was wiped out by surgery on his right knee.
I'm not too worried yet. Usually these injuries only take about 3 months to recover from which will be around the season opener. I'l be worried if they find something like they did in Oden's knee. I hope he does stay out for a few games of the start of the season though, So we can see Rudy Fernandez start a few games.
As a Wolves fan, I hope we never have to deal with his ability on the court as he seems to have our number every time. As an NBA fan and regular guy, I hope it doesn't keep him out for too long. ugh
4-6 weeks for full recovery, or so say the WWW pages I looked at. Not sure "full" means in game shape tho.
McGrady and Bynum got the same thing... He'll be fine. Hopefully he'll miss the opener against the Lakers because I have a feeling he's gonna kill us

I believe it took him like 5 or 6 weeks to heal, not sure though
