Re: Couture Looking @ 3 Year Contract Extension

I wonder if Randy regrets sitting out for a year when right now he could be in the same position but with two more fights under his belt.

Re: Couture Looking @ 3 Year Contract Extension (Updated)

The ruling in Texas must've been as important as it was made out to be for the UFC to suddenly come to terms with Couture.

Couture/Lesnar is going to be EPIC.

Re: Couture signs three fight deal with UFC? Couture/Lesnar? Press Conference TODAY

This is going to be a badass fight, I'm excited for it. I want to see how Couture does when facing someone as big and explosive of a guy as they get, that is has a very decorated wrestling background like Brock Lesnar. This seems like it will be a very hard fight for Couture.

Couture has had problems with bigger HW's, so I don't think this will be much different unless Lesnar makes a mistake. From the looks at Lesnar's performance vs Herring, he got smart quick.

Tim Sylvia is a big heavyweight, and Couture didn't have a problem with him at all, so I don't think him being a big heavyweight will be the biggest problem. The problem that I see, is that Lesnar has the wrestling skills while being big to hurt him. Lesnar will not be easily brought to the mats because he will know how to block a takedown thanks to his wrestling skills. That is where I see the problem at.

I wonder how much they paid Randy. I dislike them giving him money after holding out, causing drama, asking for 6-10 mill, etc. I hope he gets his face smashed in by whoever they give him.

Honestly, I think Brock might be too strong for Couture.

I wouldn't say that. There have been numerous reports lately that the UFC is willing to co-promote to get a Fedor/Randy fight done. I think that's the reason why you see Couture coming back and signing a 3 fight extension, not just finishing his two fights.

I dont like to count out Couture but hes proven people wrong many times but I honestly think Brock will be too big and strong for him. That being said I am glad this fight is happening because I don't it would be a steamroll of a fight for Lesnar but a somewhat close match.

Well looks like this commercial won't be used for Affliction any time soon.

Brock is going to F this guy up really bad. It's going to look a lot like the Herring fight, except Brock will get a few more strike to his head when he's got him on the ground. That's what we want to see, and they will give it to us.

I aint a huge fan of Randy but do you know who RANDY COUTURE is? He is legendary in MMA. Only the 2nd fighter in the UFC to own titles in two weight divisions. Herring isn't even a shadow of what what Randy is. I expect Randy to beat Brock. We'll see if Randy can use Brock's brute strength to his advantage. Brock wont last a five rounder. NO WAY.

Yea, I wouldn't rule Randy out either. I would have thought Gonzaga would have done better against Couture with his outing against Crocop. Randy isn't all that explosive, but he knows his way around the cage. I would put my money on Lesnar, but I think Couture will study the tape and find a way to win (I think he might prefer to stay standing).

Wishful thinking. It should make for an exciting fight! I am really looking forward to it.

I meant to put `try to find a way to win`. and yes it should be hard to stay standing if Lesnar wants to take him down. But I dunno Lesnar probably isn't the smartest guy out there, and maybe will be too comfortable with his stand up.
