Good to see hes working hard to take advantage of this opportunity. I think if he is in good shape he'll end up being a solid starter under Nellie.

I'm curious to see what type of leway Nellie gives Marcus Williams this season. He's a talented player, but he does have those "Baron-esque" moments when he dominates the rock and forces up low percentage shots.

He played with a lot of talent at UConn, and for the most part Marcus did a decent job of sharing the rock, but I'm also concerned about his ability to stay focused, because those UConn teams were highly disappointing during March Madness. Those teams lived and died with Marcus's decision making because he set the tempo for the team offensively.

He started 7 games for the Nets last season and put up solid stats.

    11.1 PPG / 6.3 APG / 4.0 RPG / 3.0 TOs / 41.2 FG% / 50% 3ptFG%

Nets were 3-4 in the games he started last season.

What type of statline do you think he needs to produce for the Warriors to have success?

I didn't read this at all, but Marcus is always impressive during the summer. And then the actual season comes, and he makes every Nets fan wanna stab ourselves in the eyes with pencils for ever having to watch him play.

I don't think there's anything he can do to make this team successful to be honest. Our best player is Stephen Jackson. Granted, we have multiple guys who you could argue are on Jack's level- Mags, Biedrins, etc. but I just can't see any team who's best player is Stephen Jackson being 'successful'.

I think Nellie will give Marcus Williams free reign just like he gave Baron. I'd say he averages 15.3 ppg, 7.7 apg on crappy FG%. Wouldn't be surprised if either of those numbers were higher though.

His production is solid when he gets minutes. That's the difference during the season compared to pre-season where he gets the bulk of the minutes... as the season starts he gets less time and his production seems to get worse (not his fault, but for a while the fault of a guy named Jason Kidd). I think he'll put up solid numbers with the Warriors if he's given the real chance to make an impact.

He got minutes, his "production" aka stats were okay at best, and his actual play on the court was quite disappointing. Effort was not there every night, and his defense was never there. And his offense definitely didn't cover up for his defense, or lack thereof.

His minutes dried up very quickly. Perhaps he's not the type to flourish under Frank's system?

I'm interested to see what he can do this season.

I can agree with that. I'm still not 100% sure on whether or not he'll turn into a complete bust, but I'll wait and see.

Marcus Williams has a much better chance at succeeding under Nellie than he did under Frank.

Run thinks Sjax is our best player, I might agree. I think he's certainly the type that can do almost everything and make others better with his passing and defense. I think other players who have a chance to be the best on this team after Ellis would be Biedrins or Mags. Mags is simply amazing when it comes to scoring, rebounding, and generally all-around play. He's really underrated IMO and I think Nelly will rely on him and set him loose. He's like a Jrich, but possibly higher energy and more skilled in certain areas, just not as healthy.

Then with Biedrins. If he's ready to break out, he'll have the most impact. He'll be able to do things for us nobody on this team can do like rebounding, shotblocking, scoring inside the paint, kickout passes from the post, interior presence. There's a reason why donut squads have a harder time winning while the teams with talented personel in the middle tend to do much better.

We definitely need a franchise player, but our complimentary prize is still pretty good considering the number of young, quality players we have that possess the right types of games for their position.

I hope Marcus does well and succeeds. Unlike another former net PG, Marcus was a good loyal guy as far as I know and worked hard in the off-season. And I think he will be a valuable player in his new situation.

You seem really high on Mags. I hope you're right.
