Knicks draftt picks by Isiah - David Lee, Nate Robinson, Wilson Chandler while Nets take Antoine Wright, Sean Williams, Marcus Williams with higher picks. Why do we wait for players to develop for years see Planninic, Illic, Wright.... meanwhile Wilson Chandler comes in and plays great right away. Isiah may have been a bad coach but he knows talent, even Balkman is better than most Net picks. Kiki gave RJ away for zero.
Isiah isn't bad at drafting, he's got a pretty decent track record with that. But there is no way I'd want him to do anything at all related to my team otherwise.
good let him stay in Philadelphia. I'm not a big Isiah fan but if we could let him just take the draft and let Rod make the trades we would be better off
Nate drafted at 21, Chandler at 23, David Lee 30th pick. Brook Lopez fell to us at 10, PeeWee Hermann could have made that pick. Jurys out on other 2. Give me a Nets pick in the 20's or 30's that is half as good as the 3 guys I mentioned. BTW We don't need nice guys making our picks, we need guys who understand basketball. The 3 guys I refer to all hustle and are aggressive. Yi is soft, anyone who honestly watches these games can see that (except maybe Kiki).
Gotta give credit where credit is due. Those were terrific picks especially considering where they were taken. Plus, don't forget, Isiah also drafted Vince But still, I don't want Isiah nowhere near my team.
Isiah is pretty good at drafting. He drafted McGrady, Damon Stoudamire (ROY), and apparently pushed hard for Indiana to acquire Jermaine O'Neal. He also has done a good job with his late picks: Nate Robinson, David Lee, and Wilson Chandler in hindsight could have been in the lottery. I wouldn't have him manage my team though.
yeah, i think he could be a good scout. but, keep him away from trades and signings. also, he doesn't know how to put a team together.
Also it was Glen Grunwald who was the GM of the Raptors in 1998 when they traded Jamison for Vince on draft night.
