GODDAMMITTT!!!!!! Yet another piece of LAZY, INACCURATE "journalism". This is the headline from this piece of crap article" "Union will sue Blazers over Miles" Nowhere in the article does it mention anything about a lawsuit against the Blazers. It says the players union will file a grievance against the Blazers - which is NOT the same thing as suing them. What do you expect from a "newspaper" called the Honolulu Advertiser? Not exactly where I turn for all my NBA news. What is that, like the Hawaiian version of the Nickel Ads? BNM
lol boob-no-more... I specifically did not put sue in the title of this thread because the article didn't say anything about that. The people who write the headlines don't write the stories... they scan the first few paragraphs... and if in print try to find something that fits.
screw the P.A. If they had any interest in their player, Darius Miles, they'd be telling him to take his money and WALK.....Walk, while he still can....walk away from the game. His knee is a time bomb waiting to go off. Likely it will happen sooner rather than later.
So did his agent. All of them have agendas, and NONE of them cite credible medical sources. Go ahead, name ONE frigging doctor that says his knee is medically sound. You can't. Because there aren't any. And there won't be. Not even a stooge whore type doctor of the kind doctors hire to testify and render their opinion in lawsuits. And the reason is the MRI shows conclusively the condition of Miles knee. Just because he can run and jump doesn't mean it isn't going to break if he continues to do so. Which is what the doctors told him would happen if he continues to play against their advice.

They didn't say his knee was fine, they said they didn't see any problem with how he played. Big (huge, actually) difference.
Doctors do not have the right to tell a man not to play basketball because of his knees. They can support a medical retirement, but only the "medical" part of it. The player and potential employers are responsible for the "retirement" element. Ed O.

Let me interject if I may. Not having any physical limitations and doing damage to the knee if he plays are two different things. Miles also couldn't practice consecutive days, but they said it was because "he is working himself into shape" Darius Miles can still play basketball, and be decent enough to help someone. The same legue and NBAPA that has said it would back Darius had a Dr look at him that said he shouldn't play anymore. Not that he couldn't.
Did they say that? Or did they say that, if he retired, a medical explanation would allow for the Blazers to have some cap relief? Ed O.
The Blazers did so much damaged to Miles that he signed an NBA contract within hours of the email being sent. I'll say it again. The players' union should pray that Miles doesn't go against cap space, because if he does, it's one less huge potential FA contract this off-season for a member of the union.
I dont get it. The PA wants the Trail Blazers to have less $$$ to offer the other players it represents? Miles is getting his $$$, a few other player/players now wont this offseason.
