The Bulls clearly miss forward Drew Gooden. After he sat out Sunday’s loss to Minnesota, the Bulls are 3-11 this season with Gooden sidelined compared to 15-16 when he plays. He’s currently out with a groin injury and no one is sure when he might return. Skipping the first half of the seven-game road trip seems likely, though Gooden vowed to play before the trek ends. “I’m going to get treatment and see a specialist, work with him for a couple days,” he said. “Hopefully soon, I will be back. Right now they’re saying a lower abdominal strain and a groin pull. I did both at the same time.”

C Joakim Noah bounced back from a scoreless, foul-prone effort against Toronto by posting 14 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high seven blocks during Sunday’s overtime loss at Minnesota. Noah didn’t fare as well, though, trying to guard Al Jefferson, who scored 39 points.

(my note: Noah 3 blocks shy of a triple double!)

My note is that Jefferson added to the list of guys with season or career highs against the Bulls. But in fairness to Noah, he also had the honor of being guarded by Noc and Gray at various points.

The Bulls also made Kevin Love look pretty darn good. He might be anyway, but I've decided to try to never judge a guy by how he plays against us.

Brother Abe, for all his inconsistencies, is still our best frontcourt player. I'm conflicted on whether or not we ought to resign him. If we manage to trade Noc and/or Kirk, seeing if we can sign him to a 1-2 year deal might not be a bad idea, assuming he comes fairly cheap. (His contract right now is fairly cheap).

I tend to think that while he's our best frontcourt player, he's not best at what we need. If I had the choice of him as our third big vs. Noc or Gray, I'd take him no doubt. If the choice were between him and a beefier or better defending player like Rasho, Brad Miller, Jeff Foster, or Marcus Camby, I'd take any one of those guys.

I'd say that he's probably going to be a better player at this point in their careers. Getting any of those guys is like the Ben Wallace Saga all over again. Rasho was never that good, and Noah is probably going to be just as good going forward.

At the end of the year that list is going to be really really long. I'd actually like to see a literal list of guys that have had career or season highs against us. Someone should make one. We can all cry/laugh over it. :devilwink:
