For Marion and Banks we gave up TJ, Rasho, Two First Rounders, Maceo and Jamario Moon colangelo needs to go right now!!!
1) I talked to "shakeyoass" and thats exectly what i said to him, but BC doesnt have to go 2) The first rounder to Miami is conditional so who cares
Don't forget we gave up Matt Bonner, Eric Williams, and a 2nd-round pick to get Rasho. Bonner is now a starter on the Spurs. Also, in the O'Neal deal we got Jawai as well.
I see your anger but here is the only part that angers me. The 1st 16th overall and Rasho. We are going to be great at PG in a few years, Maceo sucks, Graham >> Moon.
Moon is garbage, Maceo is nothing, the franchise can't draft worth a bean the past few years so the picks are useless, aside from the lower salary they come with. Rasho - meh and TJ just plains sucks. I'm surprised that BC was able to get Marion for all that crap.
TJ is a backup in Indiana, Rasho is okay but not something to cry over, Maceo didnt do shit for us here, hes not doing shit in Indiana, Jamario...hes dumber than a bag of rocks. Roy Hibbert, hes a young guy that could of develop to be okay. The other first rounder, we won't know how that turns out until a few years from now. So we 2 okay guys and 2 shit players for Marion. Not bad.
It's a good trade for the Raptors regardless. BC made a mistake dealing for O'Neal, but he's fixed the mistake the same year. If the Raptors never made the deal would they have been able to re-sign Calderon? I know you don't like him deception, but his contract is reasonable. If they didn't make the deal for O'Neal maybe this team would be a top seed and they wouldn't have a lottery pick to deal anyways. The Raptors aren't out of the playoff hunt just yet. Only 5 games out from the 8th seed.
Um TJ IS A BACKUP???? are you kidding me? the guy went down with an injury and now his back he has never been a back up and has been solid for Pacers all year!!!
Not really. Having a first round pick outstanding prohibits other deals. It looms over a team like a cloud. Colangelo is constantly giving our picks away and we have very little young talent as it is. Just because O'Neal wasn't a perfect fit, even though he was playing well recently, doesn't mean we have to get rid of him ASAP. Also, including Moon, and a first round pick, and second round picks depending on how long it takes for them to get our first rounder, makes the trade lopsided. Riley knew Marion was Colangelo's boy and held his feet to the fire. Finally, O'Neal's trade value was at its maximum next deadline, not this one. Imagine how many teams will be looking at his $23-million expiring when the summer of 2010 is months away. We got the least value out of it now. I don't know how he's fixed it. It cost us a first round pick to make the deal and a first round pick to make another one. That isn't good business. It wasn't the only deal for Ford out there so I suspect we would've kept Calderon either way. This team is gutless, there is no way, seeing how they have played this year, they would be in the top half. The Raps are out of the playoff hunt.
You don't think the Raptors can make up 5 games in the East? CLE @NY NY MIN @PHX @DAL @HOU MIA UTA @PHI DET IND @CHA CHA LAC MIL OKC CHI @ORL @NY NY ATL @IND WAS PHI @WAS @CHI Look at all the sub .500 teams left on their remaining schedule. 16 at home and 14 on the road. I think it's doable.
Nothing the Raptors have done this season gives me confidence. Also, I don't expect Marion to fit in fast enough. He will disrupt more than help for the first month or two.
this is a smart man. u really have to watch these guys on a consistent basis like "speeds" and i do -to observe the gross inadequacies of this team. they lack speed; guys who create their own shoot of the dribble and do the same for others (i.e playmakers); big men who play big, defensively the entire team is inept, including their self proclaimed mvp candidate and theirs shooters never hit shots in a game but they seem to do well in 3 pt. competitions
