Fun little videos. It is amazing what humanity can do sometimes. I play guitar as well. I have been playing for about 12 years or so. Some of the best moments in my life have come with a guitar in my hands. Speaking of amazing guitar players.... I just watched My Bloody Valentine up in Seattle this past monday. Kevin Shields does some things that no one else can do. Pretty amazing.
I love to play guitar and I wish I'd force myself to play it more. But with work, kids, school, the wife, and just life in general, there's just not enough hours in the day. On top of that, it's frustrating playing anymore when I do pick it up because I used to be so much better. I'm totally fascinated by two handed tapping. Very very cool. Here's a killer Youtube vid of a guy that has some mad skills. You should stick with it all the way through. It's amazing... bastard! I used to play a lot more though. I used to play at school, and when I got him into the night, and then during summer or so... for about 3 or 4 years I played 10ish hours a day and got pretty damn good. Could pretty much do anything I tried, but life just gets busy, ya know? I do miss those days. For the past 2 years I haven't been able to really find time and motivation to play... I had someone really close to me die and I remember while they were sick i'd use to take my guitar over to them and play them songs and things I was working on for hours... once they passed away I just didn't have the willpower to pick it up anymore. Edit - lets see, I started early sophomore year of high school, and I was age... 15ish? So i've played about 6 years. How old are you to have played for 18 years? lol... I thought you were my age.
I don't play guitar much anymore Zack Kim is my guitar hero!
Im 30 in June I went through phases also. I should be way better for somebody who has been playing as long as I have. It sucks to get back on the guitar and play something shitty when you used to be able to rip it. It'll come back. You should try to get back into it
Watch how fast this dude can play...ridiculous faster and faster and faster! 320 BPM!!!
Yeah, I feel the same way. I played some guitar yesterday because my power went out and I realized how awkward it felt. I don't even want to play around with some old solo's right now... i'd have to mask my playing with effects lol.
I'm honestly a bit surprised that all these videos have been posted and no one has thrown Justin King's name out there, given he's from Eugene: I know that someone threw out Andy McKee, but I personally enjoy the stuff by Antoine Dufour much more:
Best guitar solo of all time imo...first minute of the video.
