What will Chuck say after the game? What would he say if the Rockets stole game one? IF that happened, prepare for the most back handed compliment ever heard by man. I digress. The game is at 9:30 PM CST. Keys to the game: -Punish Bynum as possible. Today might be the only game he starts, so Yao has to score every chance he gets. -Let Kobe get his, but take everyone else out of the game for three quarters. -4th quarter - double Kobe in the paint, do whatever it takes to get the ball out of his hands. Make everyone else beat you. If the Rockets do this, they will have a great chance to steal game one in this best of seven.
Re: Playoff Game 1: Rockets @ LA You know what's funny? Kobe probably scored in the last three pictures.
always wanted to houston to play the lakers in the playoffs. unable to make it out the first round there was no chance in hell we'd play the lakers. but now houston out of the first round and their first 2nd round opponent: Los Angeles Lakers. if bynum shows up in this series GOD DAAM . but still yao vs kobe, ron and shane guarding kobe. hopefully la doesnt sweep or win in 5. make it entertaining
When Houston takes a lead, the whistles blow and the game slows down until the other team takes the lead. Then they let them play.
This game is eerily familiar. Rockets seemingly in control entering the half, and Kobe is quiet and not being particularly aggressive. If the Rockets can't extend their lead by the end of the 3rd quarter, this is a Lakers win. Luis Scola needs to be more confident and assertive on offense. There was a lot of hesitation from him and others, and it resulted in too many terrible possessions. The Rockets can't expect the Lakers to be this rusty on offense in the second half, so they need to be sharper themselves.
Ah man it's anyone's game. 43-40 at the half. Anytime it's low scoring, everyone says its Houston's pace which I still don't get. Every time Rockets and LA play each other, it's a defensive game not offensive.
Rockets up 3 after the half, and they're up 3 after 3 quarters. Damn it. Kobe Bryant is heating up, and he'll be the difference maker in the fourth quarter.
Once Kobe's got it going there's basically no stopping him. Battier's got a tough task on his hands. We need to match the Lakers' scoring in the 4th, because they will score.
That right knee is a troublesome spot for Yao. I don't think I can be 100% confident that he's fine until after a doctor assesses him after the game. Seems like Houston will take this first game, but the Lakers do have Kobe.
The NBA world is revolving around the Rockets right now. Battier bloodied, Yao manning up.....Ron playing smart, Brooks with some unbelievable plays at the end. It seemed like the Lakers went away from Kobe in the middle of the 4th.
