I'm surprised there wasn't a thread and subsequent shitstorm about this. I, for one, think it's pretty cool whenever any new species are unearthed, but it could be a bit early to actually call it the missing link. What are your thoughts? http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/05/090519-missing-link-found.html
It's getting to the point where we've mapped the human genome and humans haven't really changed in 100,000 years. It should be possible to do some sort of DNA analysis to prove it's really an ancestor.
Are pornographic images like that really allowed on this site? Why must science be so obscene? Modesty demands some clothes be put on our ancient grandmother.
Not a "missing link" but a very early primate. Any newly discovered species, living or extinct, is exciting.
While being a promising fossil, I don't know if a "missing link" will ever be found through fossils. If anything, evolution will be proven through reverse biochemistry doing reverse engineering of what evolution has done. I think it is very cool that they find this stuff, because it makes people consider the possibilities.
