Re: The Ultimate Fighter: United States vs. United Kingdom Finale

    Notes on the event:

-- The final episode of TUF 9 airs on Wednesday where the remaining semi-finalists, Frankie Lester and James Wilks, will rematch for the right to face Demarcus Johnson in the welterweight finals.

-- Xtreme Couture fighter Martin Kampmann was expected to compete at this event against TJ Grant, however, Kampmann refused the fight. Kampmann believed that taking the fight with Grant would be a high risk vs. a small reward. The UFC agreed to give them both new opponents. Grant was offered a fight with Rory Markham, which was agreed upon. An opponent could not be named for Kampmann (as of today) so he will not be appearing at the Finale.

-- Two fighters from the US team, Cameron Dollar and Jason Dent, will face each other at the Finale. Dollar and Dent developed heat in the house. Dollar's braggadocios demeanor rubbed Dent the wrong way, whereas Dollar regarded Dent as an outcast and a pariah.

-- Lightweight Melvin Guillard returns to the UFC after a long layoff. Guillard hasn't fought for nearly a year since defeating Dennis Siver at UFC 86: Jackson vs. Griffin in July. Guillard was rumoured to be fighting Thiago Tavares at UFC 101 but instead will face another Brazilian in Gleison Tibau at the Finale. Tibau has two wins in the UFC this year having defeated Rich Clementi and Jeremy Stephens.

-- Mexican welterweight Edgar Garcia makes his UFC debut against Brad Blackburn at the Finale. Garcia last competed for WEC where he scored a knockout over Hiromitsu Miura at WEC 38: Varner vs. Cerrone. Blackburn is undefeated in the UFC with wins over James Giboo and Ryo Chonan.

The UFC spoiled the winner of the Lester/Wilks fight on their UFC 99 card.

    Anyone else catch that?

Can you tell us how the UFC did that without spoiling it? I wonder I how they let that happen.

It was on their advertisement for TUF 9 Finale.

It showed the 4 fighters who would be fighting.

I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

Rory Markham is injured and unable to compete Saturday. Grant probably won't get a replacement opponent.

I am really liking the two headlining fights. Both should be pretty awesome.

^ I'm curious to see what the Electric Blanket fights like when forced to stand. I don't think he'll be getting Diego down much.

I hope Diaz triangles Stevenson out of the UFC.

Stevenson has been training at Jackson's camp so he should look much better and it's making it a tough fight to call now.

BestFightOdds.com has the lines for the show.

The best line might be on Ross Pearson pinning Andre Winner to the mat for three rounds, but it's still only 165:100.

Maybe Frankie will KO Mr. Ship-shack?

Also, seeing Nate Diaz as a 3:2 favourite is kind of surprising. If Joe fights him like Clay did, he can win that fight. I'd have that one even.

Diego Sanchez (-270) vs. Clay Guida (+251)
DaMarques Johnson (-310) vs. James Wilks (+250)
Chris Lytle (-225) vs. Kevin Burns (+185)
Ross Pearson (+165) vs. Andre Winner (-205)
Joe Stevenson (+136) vs. Nate Diaz (-145)
Brad Blackburn (-115) vs. Edgar Garcia (-115)
Melvin Guillard (+195) vs. Gleison Tibau (-245)
Mike Ciesnolevicz (-125) vs. Tomasz Drwal (-105)
Cameron Dollar (+215) vs. Jason Dent (-275)
Frank Lester (+195) vs. Nick Osipczak (-245)

Mike C. missed weight. I dunno if they are going ahead anyways, but I would assume so.

Frankie Lester is definitely fighting out of Team Quest, now.

My boy Heath Sims is up in Vegas with him.

Nate Diaz vs Joe Daddy was like Nate Diaz vs Clay Guida part 2.

Anybody else notice that Ross Pearson looks like Brucie from GTA3?

I wouldn't even call that an upset, Wilks looked like the better fighter. He kicked DaMarques' ass.

I guess I was just saying that based on the show. Wilks definitely dominated DeMarques.

Guida/Sanchez was a war, that was fun.
