Getting Rid of Feidler & Griese should bring Miami about even. Though, I would make every effort to resign Madison & Todd Wade. The question is Zach restructured his contract last year; whose turn is it this year?

I only hope that the Vikings USE their cap room. There have been rumors about Kearse signing with the Vikings in the offseason. Its a little bit early, but man that would be awesome. Our defensive line would have Hovan, Kevin Williams, and Kearse. Wow.

Tennessee - WOW! They need some serious help, tough times ahead. Looks like this is their last year to make a serious run before they have to start purging their players. Wouldn't be suprised if someone like Kearse got away from them! [IMG]

Well, the Steelers should be ok. I think Gildon & Dewayne Washington will be gone freeing up about 9 million. If Bettis stays, he is willing to take a pay cut or restructure which should free up another 2. We should free up about 15 total with the upcoming cuts. <fingers crossed>

I know in tampa we have our cap deals, we have to
re sign john lynch and brooks. Warren sapp and
keyshawn will be gone hopefully someone takes
keyshawns salery on. Sapp not coming back will
free up some money. Regardless guys will have to
    take paycuts.

I think jevon kearse will be franchised tagged.
Guys like mcnair, george will restructure there
contracts to get him back. Or they take the 2
first round picks and go there own way.

A name that will be out there possibly is
the great peyton manning. There no way
the colts can re sign him without a major
cap hit for close to 30 mill. How do they get
    peyton fugured into there finances?

I must say I'm happy with the pats cap situation though Woody may end up on the chopping block because our fifth rounder Dan Koppen out of BC started 15 games this year at center while woody filled in at guard and the pats have always been upset with his weight. I was scared we would lose Ty Law after this season but I think he may have played himself back on the team even if his cap number is a little high. Though after the milloy ordeal I won't be surprised at anyone that gets cut. The big guy in the middle Ted Washington hopefully stays as well even though he is like 1,000 years old. If colvin comes back next year the same as he was before it's on.

Does anyone else see what I'm seeing. The Ravens are in tremendous shape for years to come!! They have all kinds of cap space and a young talented team that contains 8 pro-bowlers. They are definately lacking a go-to-guy in the WR corps. hmm... Last time I checked T.O. is a free-agent. Imagine that, Kyle "Rocket arm" Boller chucking touchdowns to one of the best players in the game, while Jamal Lewis rushes for 2,000 more yards.

What a world that would be!?! =)

Peyton Manning is an unrestricted free agent after the season....If the Colts franchise tag him, he is guaranteed a 1 year deal worth 120% of his current cap number or the avg of the top 5 players at his position, whichever is higher....his current cap number is about $15million, so next year it would be $18 million, after which he woudl be free again...if he choose to continue this cycle, and accept the franchise offer every year, his salary would be $31.25million within 4 years, so clearly he could be a very rich man without signing another contract with the Colts....the thing is though, hes such a team oriented guy, an he knows that by doing that, he would hamper the Colts ability to compete so I doubt he will....the other option the Colts have is to let him sign elsewhere and take the 2 #1's, not likely to happen though

    Gogo,

That was the thing after the crows won
there superbowl. They let there players
go and they reduced there teams payroll.
Art modfell knew what he was doing all along.
Now look at the ravens a few draft picks, adding
names like ed reed and now there contenders,
with alot of money to spend.

Philly did the same, all this says is philly and
balitmore are set for future cause there teams
are already top notch teams. In the best cap
shape of all teams. Unless they both go crazy free
agency and spend all there money only to find out
a couple years later they will be cap struct. Smart
business men in baltimore and philly, they learned
from the jaguars a couple year ago.

tampa is in worse cap situation than u thinks bucs, if they cut or trade him they get hit for 7million against the cap, about 85% of there cap will be used by 9 players under contract, truly if you want to see a HUGE purge watch tampa a lot of good talent will be released, i.e. lynch, mccardell, sapp, keyshawn, alstott, and many more.

    Bears never happen. Alstott,lynch,mccardell
brooks all have said they will take paycuts
they love there home. Keyshawn wont hit us hard
on the cap til 2005 then its a high price. However
sapp not coming back will free up alot of money.

I predict the Packers will get rid of Joe Johnson and get guys like Hunt and KGB to restructure their contracts so they can re-sign Grady Jackson, Larry Smith, Hawthorne and whichever O-Linemen are up for free agency.

I don't see the Packers doing much in the off-season in free agency. They're going to go bargain hunting for depth and wait for the draft.

I think the Bucs should rebuild...I was never big on the "Tampa's the best defense ever" bandwagon. They were one-hit wonders who have a few really talented defensive players. They would be smart to rebuild quickly rather than die a slow death at the hands of the salary cap.

ronde barber, sapp, brooks, lynch, rice, booger isnt a fluke. i think brian kelly is overrated. the rest is ok

isnt it something that the eagles always have cap room but win?

i am telling you they would have to release them to make it work, and then they have to wait 3 days i think, so i have a feeling a lot of talent will be gone, and yes keyshawn will count for 7 million against the bucs cap next year

What BF1 says about the bucs salary cap is true, no matter what Keyshawn will could atleast $7mil next season and if hes released before March, he counts like $14mil....and that figure you have seen of next years cap number doesnt include Sapps salary....so we wont "save" them any additional room, hes already not included in that

    Bearsfan,

I realize you know your pigskin and i dont
doubt you do, however you are way wrong
on you saying one of them players such as
    alstott,mccardell,brooks,lynch wont be back.

Never happen they will be back all have said
they will restructure and be back. Sorry.

Dawk, i dont know if you watch our corners
very much. Brian kelly is not overated!
He's underated he is our best shutdown
corner we have, his absence was apparent this
year. Kellys assignments have always been
to play vs the other teams best wr. Barber
i beleive is overated based on our cover 2
system we play and help from our probowl
    saftey.

Keyshawn, we all think dallas will make a move
for him. I dont think we really care what we get
for key as long as someone takes over his
salery. Basing things on parcells and there praises
towards one another im not suprised to see key in
    boys uni next year.
