What do you think the court will decide on in the Gerrard assault case? They have CCTV footage of him hitting some bloke in the face :-)biglaugh:) and Gerrard admits to throwing three punches but says only one connected.

Even if the court adjourns the case, I think the FA will suspend him from the Premiership for a couple of games.

    Any thoughts?

Well, he is found not guilty and won't be punished... Typical.

I won't get as involved in this as I might, safe to say that I would like people who are putting down the decision to learn more about the justice system and this case.

It is one thing to feel that the system is flawed when you actually know what is going on, it is another to read the papers, allow them to form your opinion for you and then degrade it.

How else would I learn about it? Sorry I don't have insiders into Gerrard's personal life.

From what I see and read, the court had sufficient evidence of Gerrard hitting the man in the face and swinging a couple of other punches. I never thought he would get any prison time or be suspended from the Premier League, but surely a fine should be put in place. If this were a foreign player in the Premier League who did this they'd be kicked out of the country.

Seriously mate, you don't know enough about this to be making wild statements like that.

Just let it rest and concentrate on footy.

Think about it, was Cantona kicked out of the country? No. Just one example of how you are as we say "chatting bubbles".

The problem is that he claimed self-defence. He said that he didn't see his mates throw the first punch, so when the other guy came at them, he thought that was the first act of aggression. If that was indeed the case, then fair enough. However, highly paid lawyers are not highly paid for nothing...

If this was involving Lampard you'd be blowing a whole other trumpet.

That's the generic thing to claim when you're taking to court over assault charges. The fact that Gerrard was so honest about what happened probably gave him the life-line.

I wouldn't and I actually stuck up for Lampard after the comments about him on the radio.

It is easy to say that I am bias because it is a Liverpool player but the more you read from me you will realise I call it down the line.

If Gerrard was found guilty given the facts of the case I'd accept that as well unless it was blatantly obvious to the contrary and in this case that is clearly not the case.

You do realise a judge can not accept the verdict and ask the jury to go back and deliberate more if he suspects foul play right?

Yeah, I defended Lampard during that, too. I respect him for calling them out.

Foul play? Who mentioned that? I don't think any foul play went on, he obviously had a fantastic lawyer like Chingy stated.
