Out here in Minnesota doin' some golf, but me and my Golf Channel boys of course are talkin' hoops. They asked a cool question............ Which cities that have more then 1 pro franchise are considered NBA cities. Meaning that the city follows or supports the NBA team more then the others. I could only think of Phoenix.

Football usually trumps basketball, so a place like Dallas would support the Cowboys more than the Mavs.

And in a place like Atlanta, the Braves get more attention than the Hawks.

The south is more about football and the east is more about baseball...

Is that true about Atlanta? I'd say the Falcons are #1, Hawks could be #2, and I only say that because even when the Braves were dominating their division year after year, they couldn't even sell out their stadium for the playoffs. When the Hawks are good they seem to get a very solid turn out.

Eh, either way, it's the Falcons.

As for the question at hand, I agree with HCP, but it could change in Phoenix if the Cards stay good and the Suns continue to falter.

Yep. The Celtics are definitely 3rd in Boston (Sox/Pats much more popular), and the Knicks are arguably the 4th/5th/6th most popular in NYC. Yanks, Giants, Jets, then the Knicks/Mets/Rangers slugging it out for 4th.

The Lakers are clearly the #1 team in LA, always have been even when the Rams (and Raiders) were there. USC football is probably #2 in LA at this point, right SoCal people?

Oh yeah, them. Even if L.A. had an NFL team, the Lakers will always be #1

True. LA is all about the Lakers.

Unless the Clippers win the ring. Then a lot of fans will jump ship :devilwink: (not me)

What about Miami? My boy says I'm crazy, but he's from Florida and sleeps with his sister, so what does he know? New Orleans maybe?

How about Cleveland? The Cavs are the city's main chance for a Championship to end their awful drought.

The Browns don't rule Cleveland? That surprises me.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Recently the Cavaliers have been their most successful team, but I'd say Cleveland is more associated with the Indians nationally.

Crap, I forgot the Dodgers. Close call, but I still have to go with the Lakers.

I would have gone Indians, Browns, Cavs all time. I suppose with LeBron it might be a little different, but if the good people of Cleveland could choose which franchise they would want to win a ring, I bet they go Indians first, then Browns, then Cavs. Maybe Browns first. It's close between the Indians and Browns, I'm guessing.

Not even close. It's a Red Sox city. Why anyone would care about Baseball is beyond me - but apparently a lot of people do. Good for them.
