    TRAIL BLAZERS, CITY OF PORTLAND TO OFFICIALLY DEDICATE DUCKWORTH DOCK


    Who: Portland Trail Blazers alumni & staff
    Portland City Commissioner Dan Saltzman
    Any and all friends, family, and fans of Kevin Duckworth
    When: Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 5 pm
    Where: "L"-shaped dock adjacent to the floating portion of the Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade.
    What: As we commemorate today's one-year anniversary of Kevin's passing, we share the details of next month's official dedication of Duck's dock:
    The Portland Trail Blazers and the City of Portland will host a ceremony to officially dedicate the Kevin J. Duckworth Memorial Dock on the banks of the Willamette River, south of the Rose Garden.
    Fans are welcome to attend and will have an opportunity to leave messages and remembrances of Duckworth's life and career on a banner that will hang on the dock throughout the day.
    Those interested in honoring Kevin's memory are encouraged to contribute to the Kevin J. Duckworth Memorial Scholarship Fund and can do so by purchasing custom Duckworth jerseys or "00" wristbands at the Trail Blazers Fan Shop, or by donating directly to the address below.

    I know that dock. It's a nice choice. I'd like to see them paint the caps on the posts the pier rises up and down on in scarlet, black and white. If they add a "00", that would be cool too.

    You'd think the bleacher report could have found a damn picture of Duck in a Balzers jersey for the article

    Some players get streets named after them, but Duckworth gets a dock?

    Is that so the local ducks can swim up and pay their regards?

    He was a advid fisherman so I think it's appropriate.

    Yeah, he was on a few fishing shows too for guest appearances. I still don't know for sure if the duckworth boats are related to him...
