I haven't been following the Giants religiously but:
    Timmy
    Matty
    Sanchez
    MadBum
    Zito

    Bullpen:
Pretty much the same except Randy Johnson goes there

    Timmy
    Cain
    Zito
    Sanchez
    ??????

Randy Johnson could come back as the last guy. Bumgarner could be ready but he may not be good to go right away. Could be Pucetas or Martinez too or we could sign some random 5th starter. Really doubt we keep Penny.

I guess Martinez may stick and could be penciled in as # 5. I'm sure there will be tryouts. It would be nice to have four set guys going in. Any chance of Noah Lowry coming back next year? MadBum was doing well in spring training and reaching mid 90s so I think he's got stuff, but you're right, it may be too early for him even if he impresses again in the spring.

Forgot about Lowry but I doubt hes got much of a chance. He never had much heat and after a few major arm injuries in a row I doubt he'll get back to being able to pitch in the majors. I want to say his contract is up after this season too and if that is the case he won't be back in the organization.

If Martinez doesn't improve much I don't want him starting here again. Same for Sadowski though I think Martinez is younger and has more upside.

Hes old as dirt but pitched pretty decently this year and only pitched half a season. He hasn't ruled out retirement though I'm sure its a strong possibility. If he does decide to come back I would imagine we'd be almost guaranteed to be the team to get him though. Hes from Walnut Creek and is very well liked. He can start here and be a part of a great pitching staff on a winning team that could have a shot at another WS.

Then again we're dumping a lot of salary this coming off season and one of the big reasons is his big 8 mil contract expiring. That's a lot to pay for a back end of the rotation guy. It'd make more sense to spend money of retaining our stud pitchers and adding to the offense but if we've got spare money and he'll take what we offer I'd welcome him back.

id like to see the giants pick up a 5th starter and start madbum in AAA, someone like sheets would be ideal.

Me too. We saved a lot of cash on Huff (now expected to be our cleanup hitter) instead of getting LaRoche or whoever. Sabes says his next target is a reliever which is all good but he would have been after one regardless of whether we signed Huff for 4 mil or LaRoshe for 8 mil/year. We oughta have enough to get a back-end pitcher. Hell they're pitching at AT&T it shouldn't be that hard to find another Brad Penny type player who's got good stuff and something to prove.
