Was it on this play? Look at him wincing after the dunk. Unfortunate stuff, but at least it isn't microfracture. Edit: the above article confirms it:
Somewhere Simmons is gloating, and somewhere Simmons shouts, But there is no joy in Clipperland, cause Griffin's knee gave out.
I'm just hoping he used up all of his Nostradamus power with the Griffin injury call. He's a clownshoe when it comes to the Blazers and/or Greg Oden.
I said it earlier today in another thread - injuries suck and I really wish we could see all teams competing at their best. I'd rather beat the best at their best than squeak by them because of injuries. So, I feel sympathy for Blake Griffin and I hope the injury heals quickly and completely with no long term implications. According to the article it is a stress fracture and he should be out "up to six weeks". That sounds promising. The knee cap doesn't have to bare any weight. So, while painful, a stress fracture of the knee cap isn't as serious as a stress in the foot (metatarsal) or lower leg (tibia or fibula). If all goes well, he should be back in early December. BNM
This is the beginning of an open letter to Blake Griffin from Bill Simmons.....lol He goes on to document how the Clippers have failed in many transactions or bad luck http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/090624&sportCat=nba
