Liverpool's new stadium, Stanley Park, could start as early as April 2010.

The new stadium will hold 60,000 and will most definitely destroy the Kop atmosphere. Honestly, I think this is a terrible idea for the club as it will spiral them into even further debt, and will take a good 5+ years to balance the books.

Stanley Park is also included in England's 2018 Olympic bid.

    Clicky.

how do you work out that it will kill the Kop atmosphere? They are essentially keeping the Kop End of the ground the same: it will still be a single tier just, I assume, it will possibly be a bit bigger. I agree with the debt bit, but I don't think you can just say that it will kill off the atmosphere without giving it a chance.

It has nothing to do with how they construct it. A new stadium will always take time to become the "home". I just can't see the stadium having the same atmosphere as Anfield.

Just because there are more seats, doesn't mean you're going to get a louder following.
