I think it's time we think about trading LO. Our bench has been a non-factor, and LO's numbers are embarassing. I've followed him closely because at the beginning of the season, I considered him a steal when I drafted him onto my fantasy team. He's been playing terribly in EVERY ASPECT of the game. The players I have in mind are John Salmons from Chicago, Michael Beasley from Miami, or Charlie Villanueva from Detroit. What say you guys? (Hear comes the beating)
We all knew what we were in for when we resigned him... With all the choices being considered, he's still the best option available. Salmons is a SF/SG, and if you look at his numbers, he's been terrible this season. We can't get Beasley. Villanueva just signed with Detroit, we can't get him. LO usually heats up the second half of the season anyways. I agree that he has looked lazier than usual, but I guess it's just the post championship syndrome kicking in.
No. LO brings too much (can't believe I said that) when he plays with a purpose. In my opinion, the main problem with this team right now is getting our two C's (thank you HK for putting it that way for me, never thought of it that way) to play together efficiently, effectively, and to the point where they are both getting their touches. I think a lot of this comes down to the guards, mainly the PG. I don't even know the last time Fisher or Farmar tried posting up Drew. I think if we can get this shit figured out, the bench will be an easy fix. It is just a matter of finding the right rotation. Honestly, I prefer Sasha over Farmar in there. Farmar just stalls the offense. Sasha is a shooting guard, Farmar is a point guard. So when Farmar sits there and plays mini-Allen Iverson all damn day, it hurts our offense a lot more than when Sasha shoots a dumb 3. But yeah, back on point, I don't think trading Odom is even remotely a good idea.
There's no point in trading him because we won't be getting equal value for him. The main issue with Odom, I think, is that he's better in the starting lineup, not off the bench. If you look at his numbers when he started last year compared to coming off the bench, they were significantly better, and he's been better in his few starts this year as well. I wouldn't mind experimenting with Bynum as the 6th man and inserting Odom in as the starting PF and see what happens.
