Im sorry but as long as KP is here... we will never see him making moves liek this. this is what seperates us from the elite teams.... the GM willing to make moves to get big names.

If he can stay healthy he's going to make Dallas scary.

I doubt Petrie makes the move ... right now. If Martin and Evans don't mesh well through the second half of the season then there will be plenty of time to trade him over the summer and it's not like it's going to diminish his trade value.

As for Cuban and other GMs/owners who are really aggressive, most of those teams find themselves in the position of trying to squeeze a final run out of their aging stars and pending free agents before they are either past their prime or are likely to bolt for greener pastures. I'm not saying I don't think KP should make a trade if it's there, but the sense of urgency is a little bit different.

but their GM hasn't done a thing. No trade has happened and when a potential deal is reported in the press we pretty much know it won't. What are you giving Dallas props for??? having a favorable rumor written about them
Portland would be scary good if they swing Outlaw for Dwight Howard... btw

Gee, I'll bet KP calls other GMs around the league and lets them know what players he'd "like" to trade for. Hard to get too excited about a potential trade for a player that a team would "like" to acquire.

Sorry. It's always something though. "KPee" sucks blah blah blah. If it weren't for Pritchard we wouldn't have Oden, LMA, BRoy, Rudy, Bayless, Miller, Howard, Pendy, Batum, DC....Our management is nothing short of great. Of course we can harp on certain things and criticize the guy, but its pointless and a waste of time because he's going to be here for the next decade. I really enjoy watching this team play and I can appreciate the job our management has job rather than propose unrealistic trades that may or may not work out.

Cuban is still the same moron who let Nash walk, and he'll have to offer more than a gimpy Howard to get Martin. I think Houston has a better chance of trading for him.

To be fair, supposedly it was Patterson who made the Roy and Aldridge deals, and drafting Oden was pure luck. It had nothing to do with skill...

Pritchard is definitely responsible for Bayless, Rudy, Miller, Batum etc. though.

I wasn't aware of this. Good point. I can imagine he had some input on the decision to pick those guys but that's another subject. All I'm saying is I'm glad that he is running this team.

It's been discussed before. There was an article in the Oregonian discussing Patterson making those trades. I know I'm not the only one who saw it.

That's the last time KP really did anything.

The Rudy Fernandez move was all Tom Penn.

I'm trying to find the article.

All I can find so far is something that says Patterson was the acting GM at the time.

    Link....?

I know he was "the acting GM" at the time but there are a few articles that say KP was the one who ultimately made moves....Like the article I just posted above...

I think it was a recent article in the Oregonian. An interview with Patterson. He talked about those trades.

I really don't care either way. I had always assumed it was KP until someone showed me this article. It's so hard to find anything on the Oregonians website.

If KP calls Cleveland every day and says he wants Lebron, we should give him a lifetime contract!?!?!?

Since when does going for someone you won't get make you worthy of praise? Seems like a negative for wasting time...

KP hired Tom Penn right? KP doesn't get any credit for the positive things his staff does, yet I'm sure he would get full blame (from a predictable few) if something his staff did turned out badly. Go figure.

So, MIX, if this trade doesn't happen for the Mavs, are you going to make up childish names for Nelson and Cuban?
