I'm going to make a thread to post draft rumors, here's what I've heard so far.... -Philly shopping #2 pick to move Brand -Houston and Portland looking to trade up -Memphis is willing to trade their 1st round picks (#12, 25, 28) for an "Impact" player. -Minnesota aren't satisfied with a frontline of Kevin Love and Al Jefferson, which could lead to one being traded -Golden State and Minnesota could be discussing a deal to swap picks along with Anthony Randolph and Kevin Love. -Elliot Williams came down with a mysterious "minor" knee injury after his workout with San Antonio, and canceled his appearance at the combine. Now he is refusing workouts along with interviews, so many believe he has a guarantee from San Antonio @ #20. -Tibor Pleiss recently discussed that he was going to withdraw, and return to Europe before staying in the draft next year to become a 1st Rd guy (where he would want to go to NBA right away). Now Oklahoma City is rumored to be interested in him @ #26. -Indiana is discussing a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers that would bring in Baron Davis (for Brandon Rush, T.J. Ford, & #10) More to come soon....
-Indiana is apparently looking into trading #10, rumor is they are looking into acquiring multiple picks like Minnesota with #16 & #23 or Memphis with #12 & #28
On espn they have a picture of brand, ant randolph, and tony parker on a article about draft trade rumors. Have you heard anything about parker?
maybe this isn't a rumor, but Motiejunas is out and Seraphin might follow him if his injury's bad enough,
Its nothing substantial. Ford just mentioned Parker or George Hill aren't untouchable and could be traded to get a big man.
Yeah, Montiejunas withdrew and then Seraphin is still testing his stock even though he can't workout right now. Seraphin's measurements in Treviso were pretty good, here's what was on DX's twitter:
-Philly, Minnesota, Golden State, Detroit, Indy, Toronto, Chicago, San Antonio, and OKC have all had discussions about moving up, down, or out of the draft. -The Pistons, Spurs and Thunder have been the most aggressive about moving up. -Chad Ford believes Philly wants Derrick Favors more than Evan Turner at this point.
I hope he stays in, but teams ignore him due to his knee "injury". I would love for the Blazers to take him.
We just unloaded 2000 plus words of the latest draft talk on our NBA Draft Blog today. We covered the DeMarcus Cousins-Derrick Favors workout in Sacramento and gave the latest updates on what the Wizards, Sixers, Nets, Timberwolves and Kings were all up to. As we get closer to the draft the info just keeps rolling in. Here's a few bonus nuggets, that came in after the blog published. A number of NBA sources are telling me that the Denver Nuggets are in the hunt for a Top 10 pick. Nuggets GM Mark Warkentein has been calling around trying to gauge interest in teams selling the pick. According to sources Warkentein is offering Ty Lawson for the pick. A Nuggets source said the Nuggets are looking for big man to fill up their front line. Several bigs including Cole Aldrich, Ed Davis, Ekpe Udoh, Patrick Patterson, Daniel Orton and Hassan Whiteside could be there at 10. Butler's Gordon Hayward is getting serious looks from the Clippers, Jazz, Pacers and Bucks. But could he go even higher than No. 8? The Sacramento Kings (drafting at No. 5) have been pushing to get Hayward in and will have Hayward and Nevada's Luke Babbitt in for a workout on June 23rd, the day before the draft. Could the Kings take Hayward ahed of the two guys we have highest on their board -- DeMarcus Cousins and Greg Monore? Probably not. But the Kings have been talking to several teams about moving down in the draft. The Kings are looking for veterans and have been shopping Andres Nocioni and Francisco Garcia to see if they can get any takers. If they do move down a few notches, both players could be intriguing.
Sources tell Yahoo! Sports that Sacramento is looking at potential deals that could include moving down in the draft. The Kings need a small forward and might target the Pistons' Tayshaun Prince if they could send Andres Nocioni to Detroit in exchange for swapping spots in the top 10. The Kings own the No. 5 pick and the Pistons have the No. 7 selection. The Pistons are looking to move up in the draft to snag an impact big, while Nocioni has stated his desire to be traded out of Sacramento.
-Darington Hobson reportedly has several promises at the end of the 1st Round, supposedly Wizards and Orlando are two teams being thrown around.
The Denver Nuggets are looking to get a Top 10 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, according to ESPN. The site reports that Nuggets GM Mark Warkentein has been trying to figure out which teams would be interested in such a deal and is offering guard Ty Lawson(notes) for the draft pick. Lawson, who was drafted in the first round last year by the Minnesota Timberwolves and then traded to the Nuggets for a future first-round pick, averaged 8.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game last season. The Nuggets would like to draft a young big fella, according to ESPN's source. The Indianapolis Star reports that the Indiana Pacers might be interested in adding Lawson in exchange for its No. 10 pick. The team has also apparently made contact with the New Orleans Hornets to see if point guard Darren Collison(notes) is available.
The Detroit Pistons would like to draft Kentucky center DeMarcus Cousins and, the Detroit Free Press reports, the team is trying to move up in the draft via trade to make that happen. The team has the No. 7 pick and the paper reports that there is some possibility that Cousins will still be available at that point "based on questions of character and work ethic, but that's unlikely considering the needs of the teams ahead of the Pistons." The Sacramento Kings have the No. 5 pick and Cousins impressed them with a workout this weekend. The 6-11, 292-pound Cousins averaged 15.1 points, 1.8 blocks, and 9.8 rebounds in his freshman season at Kentucky.
-Milwaukee has had Patrick Patterson and Cole Aldrich cancel workouts with them because they feel they will not last to #15 anymore. -Rumored to be done is Detroit trading Tayshaun Prince and #7 to Sacramento for Andres Nocioni and #5
Why would SAC want to trade out of Cousins' spot? For Prince over Nocioni? They must really be hurting for $$ in SAC..just to save 8M over 3 years?
