Uruguay v. Germany is on now. Germany is without Klose and Lahm starting, replaced by Cacau and Aogo respectively. Schweinsteiger is wearing the captain's arm band. Uruguay welcome back Suarez.

Some interesting moments early with Germany scoring after the whistle had already gone and Uruguay screamed for a hand ball after Forlan took a free kick just outside the box. The ref blew for encroachment in the latter case and Forlan sent a ball narrowly over.

I'll go with Uruguay in this match, due to the changes for Germany. It helps my decision that Aogo picked up an early yellow after one of those high tackles that breaks legs that should have won him a red card.

Its 1-1 in the 30th. Mueller for Germany, Cavani for Uruguay.

Apparently this puts Mueller in the lead for Golden Boot as he has more assists than the other five goal scorers, Sneijder and Villa.

Sorry I didn't get around to creating a proper thread. Hopefully German take home third place again.

    Its all good.

Match seems somewhat open, considering that Uruguay is playing their usual defensive game. Germany is turning the ball over in midfield and that is giving Suarez, Forlan, and Cavani chances. Cavani hit, while Suarez missed a good one. Forlan has had some difficulty getting open thus far, but is creating space for the others with all the attention he gets.

According to the broadcasters, Luis Suarez is getting booed when he's on the ball, but it sounds oddly like vuvuzelas on my TV. Guess you have to be there to hear it. I get the booing, but given the situation, anyone who says they wouldn't have done the exact same thing has no fucking clue what they were watching.

I agree with you about Suárez. The match has been great so far with plenty of goals and excitement. Hopefully this one won't go into extra time though.

    Deutschland!

I did end up catching the boos for Suarez in the second half. I may have been listening for it, but you could hear the vuvuzelas stop for the booing to start.

That's just ridiculous. I can't wait to see him progress further at Ajax, though I don't suspect he'll be there longer than one more season. Anyway, this was definitely a great match and exciting to the end with that last free kick off of the goalpost for Uruguay.

Manchester United can't afford anyone at the moment. This has been reported on FSC. They'll be lucky not to file for bankruptcy in due time.

Yep, they have to pay off their horrible debt, somewhere around 600 or 700 Million. Hope they join the ranks of Pompey soon, hahahaha!!!

Chelsea, Liverpool, and United are in huge amounts of debt. From what I can see, Wenger has been very sneaky and it waiting for the time to pounce on the league. If we keep our debt in-line (which we are, we make huge profit every season), we could dominate the Premier League for a good period.
