Default Rockets Refuse to "Hold Out Yao" to Keep Him Healthy

Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle wrote on Monday that the Rockets' chances of making a deep playoff run still rest on the health of center Yao Ming.

Houston officials maintain that Yao is entirely on track to start training camp and the season on time.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said the rumored possibility of holding Yao out for the first two months of the season to be cautious is "totally false."

It looks like a year, but it's not. It's a ratio - the diameter of the rim (18 inches) to the diameter of the ball (9 inches). Eighteen to nine. 18 to 9. The rim is SO much bigger. You have to wonder how anyone ever figured they missed some crucial shot by only an inch.

I hope he comes back healthy and able to play at a high level soon. It will be good for the NBA to have him back
