Ok, so Manchester City played Poli Timisoara in the Europa League tonight

    The Situation:

Vincent Kompany played in the number 33 shirt but was listed with number 4 shirt

Is there any way they could be penalized for this???

I have no idea. But who listed his shirt number incorrectly? Was it ESPN or something?

I don't think anything can happen after the fact. If they caught it during the game they'd simply make him switch uniforms.

Hopefully they will ban them from all competitions and liquidate the club.

I think they should re-play the game with the correct jersey

No, not at all. You can be disqualified if he wasn't put on the roster before the tournament began though.

it was probably a situation where there was a problem with his jersey so they had to switch him to a different number. as long as he wasn't wearing the number of another player who was actually in the game, i don't see any way it would be a problem.

I have seen Adebayor change kit numbers during the middle of a game after his shirt got ripped (can't remember who it was against or if it was even Adebayor).

I am bitter as well as I was hoping the Earth would open up and swallow both teams. I know this is unrealistic though because the Earth would probably regurgitate them back up, slimy ****s they are.

Never knew anyone who actively hated Poli Timisoara so much...

Actually I was mistaken. The team I don't like is Poly Timisoara, but that's not who Man City played the other day. They played FC Timisoara. Two different teams. Poly Timisoara moved to Bucharest but kept the name, which is why I don't like them. Like the Bulls moving to St. Louis and still calling themselves the Chicago Bulls.

    Speeds, that is incorrect.

Poli timisoara is FC timisoara, they never "moved" to Bucharest

And there is a looooong story as to why they were forced to change their name to FC from Poli. But people (fans) still refer to them as Poli.

Poli by the way is a shortened word for politechnica or polytechnical

Sort of like moving from Woolwich to North London?
