The Steelers have seemingly settled on their interim starting quarterback with Ben Roethlisberger suspended in Dennis Dixon, but coach Mike Tomlin could have another option next week.

Byron Leftwich threw passes at practice on Wednesday in a limited fashion before resting on the sideline. The Steelers are "encouraged" by Leftwich's progress, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Leftwich and the Steelers may be targeting next week's game against Leftwich's old team in Tampa as a possible return date, but we can't imagine they would go back to him as a starter barring a major Dixon meltdown.
