GOALKEEPERS- Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton)

DEFENDERS-Carlos Bocanegra (Saint-Étienne), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Clarence Goodson (IK Start), Eric Lichaj (Aston Villa), Oguchi Onyewu (AC Milan), Michael Parkhurst (FC Nordsjaelland), Heath Pearce (FC Dallas), Jonathan Spector (West Ham United)

MIDFIELDERS- Alejandro Bedoya (Örebro), Michael Bradley (Borussia Moenchengladbach), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Benny Feilhaber (Aarhus), Stuart Holden (Bolton Wanderers), Jermaine Jones (FC Schalke), Brek Shea (FC Dallas)

FORWARDS-Jozy Altidore (Villarreal), Clint Dempsey (Fulham), Eddie Johnson (Fulham)

MLS is in a full schedule during the friendlies, so only two guys from FC Dallas get called in.

Eric Lichaj, Brek Shea, and Jermaine Jones are in line for their first caps. If Parkhurst plays both, the match against Poland will be his 10th career cap.

Looks like we'll see more of a 4-5-1 type formation. Speculation has hinted at a Christmas tree formation, which could be very interesting or some empty bucket action that people hated back when Bradley started in the position.

    Here are some midfield options:

    --Feilhaber----Bradley----Jones--
    ------Dempsey----Holden--------

    or

    --------Jones-Bradley-Edu--------
    -Holden-----------------Dempsey-

In the second formation, you could push Jones back behind Edu and Bradley.

To update, Shea and Pearce are joining the squad after the Poland match. Not sure if other MLSers will be joining for the Colombia match on the 12th.

Main guy missing is probably Mikkel Diskerud, who has 6 goals and 6 assists for Stabaek in Norway this season (4 goals, 5 assists in the league).

Wasn't thinking of it this way, until I saw it from Bruce at duNord. What about NT prospects from teams who MLS matches don't mean anything? New England, Houston, Chivas, DC United are all out already. Chicago and Philly are pretty much out of it as well. Here's who could be added:

    New England - Kevin Alston
    Houston - Geoff Cameron
Chivas USA - Jonathan Bornstein (not a huge loss), Justin Braun
    Philadelphia - Michael Orozco Fiscal

DC United and Chicago don't really have anyone to offer. A Brian McBride tribute/send-off vs. Poland would be nice, but that's not really McBride's style at all, so its not surprising to see it not happening.

Yanks Abroad, in name alone in this instance, with an article about Brek Shea's excitement to be in the camp and in line for his first senior cap. Shea featured at the U-17 and U-20 levels and was called in for a World Cup qualifier at age 18 in 2008. At 20, he's the youngest player on the roster and one of three who could get their first caps. Shea adds versatility as he plays leftback, left wing, and forward, though mostly he plays on the wing with FC Dallas.

And now we know what Kevin Alston is too busy doing.

Lots of double meaning happening here.
