Oilers: Win No. 2 may have been ugly, but they'll take it

    If the Edmonton Oilers' effort and result against the Calgary Flames in their home opener was a big canvas masterpiece, it looked like they were taking the crayons out of the box for the very first time Sunday against the Florida Panthers.

    This was an ugly picture, folks.

    The goalie Nikolai Khabibulin was wonderful, again. The fourth line with Ryan Jones, Colin Fraser and Zack Stortini scored and disturbed. Theo Peckham was abrasive throughout, also talked lots of trash with Panthers tough guy Darcy Hordichuk while winger Gilbert Brule, who sprained his ankle slightly when it caught on the boards against the Flames Thursday, and defenceman Tom Gilbert were noticeable, too.
