Should teams be punished for icing a short-handed roster? (TSN Article)

    I personally don't think a team should be punished anymore if you have injuries and they spend their money on a few players without being able to fill a roster. They basically took a risk spending so much money on Kovy, and its backfiring a way I don't think the team thought to hard about.

    Yeah, which is why i think this article is crazy.

    The real issue here is that the NHL's hard cap is unrealistic. They need to give a team just a tiny amount of leeway when they are close to the max.

    In my opinion,it serves them right,signing Kovalchuk for a ridiculous amount of time...

    Yeah, but that's the problem with the hard cap, though. In order to sign the best FAs, thats what you're gonna have to do.

    So far that sacrifice isn't worth it.
