I've been looking for more artists to load up onto my iPod for when I'm doing school work or writing a paper. I'm looking for acoustic rock, slower paced, or artists who use a lot of piano in their music.

To give you guys some help to what I've got on the playlist already: Jack Johnson, Aaron Lewis, Mat Kearney, Matt Costas, Damien Rice...

*fully awaits an onslaught of jokes from Thrilla*

Early Everything But The Girl (through Amplified Heart). Elvis Costello's and Burt Bacharach's duo album is also excellent. For super mellow, try David Wilcox.

I always used to study to Blockhead's Music By Cavelight. Instrumental Hip Hop..not sure what exact genre it'd fit though. According to Wikipedia its trip hop. A lot of DJ Shadow is good to study to as well. Same vibe as the first.

This isn't ambient like 'The Grace' but this is a laid back song, too.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I'd recommend Air France. It's more about evoking moods than about active processing of lyrics, so I think it makes very good background music when doing other things.

you need to get some good chillaxed .nz music in your life :)

most of these are a little cliche now here, but for a first time listener its a good place to start

more dub, light reggae, horns, laxed stuff :) enjoy - these songs just remind me of summer, beaches, friends + drinking
