*edit* Duffee has denied this rumour (although he has reportedly turned down two fight offers, one from Bellator and another from Strikeforce) ...drumroll... Todd Duffee? That is the latest rumour. Duffman certainly fits the bill aesthetically. He wants to make movies and be a star. Whether he can handle the grind of 250+ days on the road is yet to be seen.
Re: The UFC fighter headed to the WWE is... forgot all about the duffman.. how is his mic skills? lol
Re: The UFC fighter headed to the WWE is... he'll lose some of the legitimacy that comes with being a "real" athlete if this is true, but there is no shame in being a well paid entertainer in the WWE...i guess.
Re: The UFC fighter headed to the WWE is... To be in the WWE you have to be an athlete and an actor. They travel all year and perform every week, not an easy gig.
Re: The UFC fighter headed to the WWE is... Its ridiculously bad on your body too I believe. Its all fake but you still get very banged up and its not just the actual performance but a ton of practicing/choreographing. Aren't a lot of these former pro wrestlers dying young because of shit health care and complications due to being addicted to pain killers?
^ The health care isn't an issue, they get treatment as needed so long as they are working for a good promotion. The main problem is that many can't afford to take time off until they have their place well carved-out within the company for fear of losing their spot. This means wrestlers compete with nagging-to-serious injuries, sometimes known only to them, including head, brain, neck, and spine trauma. A lot of them have trouble sleeping because of injuries and the insane travel schedule. They take pills and alcohol to help them sleep, Dr. Feelgood drugs to dull the aches and pains, uppers to ready for a show, steroids and HGH to stay in shape with limited training time (and to help recover from injuries faster)... it becomes a downward spiral from there. I don't know if it is still as bad as it was in the 80s-90s. Watch "Beyond the Mat" for a look at the life some of the older guys like Jake Roberts and Terry Funk were leading, it is heart-wrenching.
