I just scanned every Blazer who plays decent minutes, and in every case except Matthews and Andre guys are shooting 3-5% below their career averages. This is a lot more than some statistical aberration. Is this a Roy spillover effect to almost the entire team? Nate's offense? a combination of both or something else.

I think the answer to your question about it being a spill over from Roy is yes.

Our offense has been built around taking jumpers late in the clock, and Roy has been the one to do that most of the time. This year, Roy can't do that, and the offense has suffered from it. Matthews and Andre are also two of the only players that attack the basket on a regular basis. Other guys stand on the perimeter and wait for Roy to give up going 1 on 1 with a defender with good knees.

Miller can shoot fine... just not three pointers. Why does everyone say someone can't shoot just because they can't make threes?

Who here said the bench is fine? Sometimes I think you create this war you're fighting in your head.

We just got Joel back to finally set some decent screens for the second unit. That should help some. But they have to hit shots. A lot of the shots that crew is missing are very make able shots.

Lack of confidence and not using good mechanics due to rushing shots. Fix the latter part of that by running the offense to better create open looks instead of last second heaves at the basket and the confidence should start to return. Easier said than done, I suppose, for an offense that spent the last four years depending upon Roy's isos to bail them out.

It's a few things. First, we're in a state of transition in terms of our offense. The threat of Roy was the focus of the opposing defense. Now LaMarcus and the other guys are getting more attention. Miller is used to it because he's been the focus of other offenses; the guys that have just played with Brandon aren't.

Second, the roles on this team were defined going into the season and injuries have blown those rotations up. It's going to take time to figure out what works and for people to get comfortable in their new roles.

Third, I think this team is just psychologically and emotionally exhausted. How much fucking drama can one team take? You think you're going to be one level of team, and now you're another. This was going to be the payoff year, and the hope is largely gone. It takes a toll.
