"The NBA schedule mercifully allowed the Grizzlies a four-day holiday break without games, and the players were unanimous in a belief that the timing couldn't have been better.

It was time to hit the reset button again -- something the Griz have already done two or three times this season -- and now their methodical 104-90 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday night is supposed to ignite a spark.

Griz forward Rudy Gay sure hopes so after ending a three-game losing streak.

"We have something to build on," Gay said after amassing a game-high 30 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals. "We got good shots and got our big men involved. The big men played well and Mike (Conley) got them the basketball. That's the way to play. It was one of those games where we can look back on it and say this is the blueprint."

    Grizzlies basketball.

That was the refrain inside the visitor's locker room at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph combined for 35 points and 24 rebounds, and mostly rendered the Pacers' big men ineffective. O.J. Mayo came of the bench and tossed in 17 points, which included a pair of 3-pointers that doused a couple Indiana rallies.

Conley finished with a game-high 10 assists, and the Grizzlies' defense didn't allow the Pacers' offense to play in rhythm or seriously threaten in the second half."
