He didn't accept a title fight on 4 weeks notice? Can't blame him. Jackson said he's walking aroudn @ 250 right now.
Can't blame him if he's walking around at 250. Jones already just trained for a fight and is in great shape and also didn't get hurt at all during the fight.
Yeah, if hes 250 then its not even up to him. Can't drop 45 lbs. in 4 weeks and then have a five round fight. But WTF is he doing at 250? I know guys walk around heavier than their weight classes and gain even more weight inbetween camps but damn. Hes Cain Velasquez sized right now.
He always balloons up between fights. He'll be fine for his fight against Thiago. He's got 12 weeks to drop that shit. I doubt he's scared of Shogun. Rampage doesn't strike me as the dude who is scared to fight...even if he's gotten his ass kicked.
For someone who hates running so much, though...you'd think he'd only let himself get up to 230-235 between fights.
I have no source to back this up but I believe hes made it known that he wants to avenge that loss to Shogun. He was pretty young and much less experienced, more raw. He took a BEATING but part of the aspect that made that fight so impressive was the barrage it took to fully take him out. It was a clinic by Shogun but mainly because it took loads and loads of brutal shots to put rampage away whereas most guys would have folded after a few.
According to Rampage, he was injured heading into the fight, as well. I still think Shogun would beat him in a rematch..too versatile in the striking department...too fast.
