Fisher was on fire to start the game and Lakers came out focused on both ends. Nice to see Josh Powell get his championship ring. He looked weird with his hair trimmed. The box score stats I like are: Lakers out rebounded Atlanta 54 to 32 Bynum/Gasol combined for 5 blocks Kobe only played 27 mins Lakers took 40 Free throws and only shot 15 three pointers
Followed up the Atlanta game with a tough game at Portland (a given). If it weren't for turnovers, I'm inclined to say that we win this game by alot, but then we had to shoot ourselves in the foot. Not to get lost in all this, but LMA played like a friggen beast.
I like what I've seen out of Gasol these past two games. He's been dialed in and more assertive. Andrew Bynum continues to frustrate. He goes from 15 rebounds in 25 minutes to only 4 rebounds in 32 minutes of play. He needs to be ready to play with high energy every night.
I'm so ready to try and trade Bynum and some package for Dwight Howard (S&T). I don't care if it's unreal, I WILL DREAM!
Straight up wouldn't work, I think they are 3mil off....or something, I could be wrong. But even talent-wise, we'd have to include something else OR a third team to include more.
except for Odom, the bench was it's usual horrible self. Phil has to get Ebanks more minutes and find some scoring out of Blake and Brown. We really need Barnes back.
Seriously... everything has to balance out... too many all - stars heading to the east! hahaha dwight has to tip the scales a bit and head out west! http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=p66lpp And btw, Bynum for Howard str8 up does work!
Kobe alone out scored the Clippers 18 to 17 in the third quarter last night. Since the All-Star break the Lakers are winning the 3rd quarter which is a great sign for us. 26 to 21 vs. Atlanta +5 26 to 22 vs. Portland +4 33 to 17 vs. Clippers +16 We've been able to increase the lead over the Thunder to 3.5 games. Sunday is a huge statement game for both teams. Curious to see how Perkins adjusts to the new team.
Apparently Perkins is hurt for another 2-3 weeks, but it'd be nice to see how he is with everyone on the bench.
But they would probably try to ask for more than Bynum (not ALOT more, but probably a decent filler and picks from other teams)
Trying to figure out the rotations today. Why is Luke Walton guarding James Harden? The difference in this game right now is OKC are making open looks and Lakers are missing them.
Gasol needs to be stronger with the basketball. Congrats to Kobe tied for 7th All-Time in scoring now.
Lakers defense puts into lock down mode in the 3rd quarter. The Thunder haven't been able to defend the high pick and roll with Kobe & Bynum.
