Boston has agreed to send Kendrick Perkins to OKC for package that includes Jeff Green, sources tell Y! http://twitter.com/#!/WojYahooNBA/status/40862021779988480
I wonder what's gonna be Celtics excuse now: The "we didn't have Perkins" excuse is no longer there. This move makes me laugh because it shows in a way Celtics pressed the Panic button with all the moves in the East.
Nate Robinson was also sent to OKC in the deal. Celtics just made another trade with the Cavs... Soon after, Ainge sent burly rookie forward Luke Harangody(notes) and rookie pivotman Semih Erden(notes) to the Cleveland Cavaliers for a second round pick.
Something like that better work out for them. To me, its a pretty big risk to deal Perk, regardless of what you think Green can become.
Green is pretty beastly. He'll be great coming from the bench. We'll just have to see what Krstic can bring.
Here's one from the ESPN Insider Rumor Mill: Somehow, we're now in the running for Dwight Howard when he becomes a free agent after the 11-12 season. I'm not sure I'm catching the math, but at that time, we'll only have Rondo and Pierce under contract and a team option on the astounding Avery Bradley. So assuming we never sign anyone between now and then, we'll have room for a max deal for Howard.
