Manhattan College has hired Louisville assistant Steve Masiello as its men's basketball coach.

Masiello replaces Barry Rohrssen, who was fired after the Jaspers went 6-25 and were 59-85 overall in his five seasons with the school.

"I am honored and humbled to be the next coach of Manhattan College," Masiello said in a statement. "I am eager to lead the Jaspers back to prominence as being a premier program in the conference, and re-establishing our rich tradition and winning history."

Masiello was an assistant at Manhattan from 2001-05 and helped them reach the NCAA tournament twice and the NIT once before leaving to work under Cardinals coach Rick Pitino.
