Of the Top 20 players in assists in NBA/ABA history, Miller is the only one who has never led a team to a win in a playoff series. Reggie Theus, at #22, is the next in line without a playoff victory. Going through the Top 50, Miller and Theus are still the only two to never win a playoff series. http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/ast_career.html
He Had Two Last Night. I'd say the fact is more based on him playing for bad teams than him being the contributing factor.
Troubling fact: Nate McMillan has never won a playoff series as Portland Trailblazers coach. This is just a fact. I'm not making any conclusions. But it is worrisome, this fact which is factual. I mean, I'm just facting some factual facts here.
Why are you being so negative PapaG? I have to laugh at so-called fans creating threads designed to rip players who have been major contributors for the team. Miller has a 24.2 PER so far in this year's playoffs. But your M.O. has always been an Andre Miller Basher. I guess if you get your jollies bashing Portland Trail Blazers...
maybe easIER but not necessarily easy. Miller has not been around as long as he has because he is easy to guard.
Absolutely. Once the league figures out that Miller has no three-point shot, they'll start preventing him from driving to the rim for layups, free throws and assists.
I'm just wondering if he is crying right now because Dre got a deserved contract. I'll never forget that he's the guy who constantly brought up Dre's quiet behavior and his inability to communicate with Roy. THAT was weak stuff, Bgrantfan... I mean PapaG. It made me think that you aren't a true fan of the Blazers, and are more concerned about being 'right'.
I have to agree on the Andre bashing. He is 0-6 in playoff series. Not all of those teams were bad. Denver was pretty good 5-6 years ago. If anyone is watching these games, you'll notice that many Dallas 3 point highlights have Andre Miller closing out late. He makes Jason Kidd look like an All-Star and he doesn't have half the speed of Jason Terry. Great passer, liability on defense, and no 3 point shot equals an average +/- of -6. Not a great stat for a point guard. May as well give one of our guards who has a future some playoff experience.
I pointed out a statistical fact that is relevant, now more than ever, since the team is down 2-0. How is that being negative? He has a fantastic PER and Ortg. He also has a Drtg of 119 for the two games. Does it matter if he has a PER of 50 if the Blazers lose the series? Roy had a 26 PER in the Houston series, and was ripped for dominating the ball.
If the Blazers don't win a playoff series with Miller, is it really a 'deserved' contract? I'm sorry I upset you the other day. People are on edge, and you seem to be leading the charge. I appreciate what Miller does, but in the playoffs, he's a proven loser.
It matters in terms of analyzing why they lost. I didn't see a single person "rip Roy" after the Houston series.
