I'm really intrigued by this guy. I like big PGs in general, and I like great passers (one of the reasons I was sad that Sergio just sucked at everything else). Morris is both. So why is he projected lower than our pick? Because (a) he's not particularly athletic, and (b) (I'm guessing) he made a SUDDEN jump in his sophomore year, compared with his ho-hum freshman year. That's usually a warning sign (in my experience). But still: after suffering through Bayless and to a lesser extent Armon and Patty, wouldn't it be nice to have a backup PG who actually sees the floor? (Note who his NBADraft.net comparison is.)

People who mocked Adam Morrison for blubbing aren't going to like this, though:

I think an athletic PG is a must personally, but if the Blazers don;t move up or out of the draft, he would be a good choice if he's there at 21

I think a PG has to have pretty high athletic ability to guard some of the freaks in this league. I think without someone who can even sorta kinda stay in front of someone, Portland will continue to get torched on defense

None of the PGs outside of the lottery really excite me (and those don't really excite me either). I'd much rather draft a big for the inevitable event that one of our current bigs goes down for a significant amount of time.

"Adequate" is better than most of the options that are staring us in the face in another year, so if they do take him, so be it.

He would have to develop a better outside jump shot, but that is very possible with a lot of hours in the gym.

What doesn't happen very often is a player who lacks PG "skills" suddenly obtaining them. It seems like they either have them or they don't, but rarely do they get good instincts with
    practice.

21 may be a little high for him, but if they think he will get better than it seems like it worth the chance. It's a crap shoot at that point anyway. But his video does seem to show great body control and the ability to pass with both hands. He has good size...... I can see why they compare him to Miller.

This is pretty insane for several reasons, but it's interesting to see they've got Morris going at #14. Says he "outplayed Jimmer" at the Knicks workout.

Right, because rookie point guards are usually ready to play from day one, and Nate's historically been a great coach for rookie point guards to play under.
