With time running short to keep the NFL's preseason intact, owners and player representatives are back in force at a Manhattan law firm, trying again to work out a new labor deal. At least eight of the 10 members of the owners' labor committee are on hand for the talks, including Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys and John Mara of the New York Giants. Packers CEO Mark Murphy and Chargers owner Dean Spanos were not seen at the talks Wednesday but joined them Thursday. On the other side, NFLPA chief DeMaurice Smith and at least six current or former players arrived Thursday morning. After Wednesday's lengthy session, a source with direct knowledge of the negotiations told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio that a lot of "hard work" remains before a new collective bargaining agreement can be struck.
