    RIP Al Davis

As a Raider fan, this is huge news, but football fans in general should take this as huge news as well

Suddenly nobody is calling him an idiot, an asshole or a crazy MF'r.

    Respect for the dead?

It was kept hush hush but people within his circle apparently all knew this was imminent. The signs were there too if you read into it. Many of the draft picks said they hadn't spoken to him "yet" (he talks to EVERYONE), he never appeared at training camp (had never heard of him not being at Napa for TC) and wasn't at practices, the team dedicated a game ball to him after the opener @ Denver, he missed his first game in decades when the Raiders were @ Buf a few weeks back.

Hes basically been running the Raiders like a crazy asshole for the last couple decades so that is all the media would ever talk about. Rightfully so. Most of his contributions that we will remember occurred prior to the mid-eighties. His coaching, introduction of the vertical passing game, AFL/merger, super bowls, hiring of first black/latino coach, etc. Reporters can't continuously laud him for what he did decades ago. Now that hes died you revisit all of his achievements and reflect on his entire body of work, which is damn impressive. Its a shame that he became a running joke for the media recently but he didn't give a shit and obviously he hadn't made many friends in the media or around the league outside of the "Raider family". Its sad that he was disrespected for so long and just now that hes died peopled are coming out of the woodwork and sucking his dick after deriding him for years. But he brought it on himself.

Getting ready to watch the Fox pregame show. Does Howie Long cry or will Terry Bradshaw do it for him?

Great win. A very emotional day for Raider Nation, and the players closed out the game.
