The Oakland Raiders have agreed to acquire linebacker Aaron Curry from Seattle two years after the Seahawks selected him fourth overall in the draft.

Raiders senior executive John Herrera says the deal was agreed to on Wednesday and will be official once the league approves it and Curry passes his physical.

Curry has so much potential it's amazing how much he's underachieved.

I like this trade. Curry has done dick in the league but hes a hell of an athlete and still has potential. Seems like he got jerked around a bit in Seattle when they switched systems. None the less hes failed terribly as far as pass coverage and not much better as a pass rusher. The Raiders need speed from their LB core and primarily need LBs who are strong against the run. Not sure if Curry does this at all but he can't be too much worse than Quentin Groves who is slow, covers terribly, and doesn't play the run very well. Curry's speed/athleticism alone may make him useful on 1st and 2nd downs. Hes not playing in nickel packages regardless with McClain and Wimbley here.
