"The Seahawks offensive line put together one of its most complete performances of the season on Sunday, but also lost one of its starters.

Rookie right guard John Moffitt is out for the season after tearing the MCL and PCL in his right knee during the Seahawks' 22-17 win over Baltimore.

The only good news is that it's not an ACL injury, so recovery may not be quite as difficult. Moffitt was the team's second selection in this year's draft (third round, No. 75 overall), part of coach Pete Carroll's effort to revamp Seattle's offensive line. Moffitt was named the team's starting right guard the day he was drafted.

"We're really right at the cusp of when we're starting to improve," Carroll said of the offensive line. "He would have loved to have been part of this season. We're going to miss him. We'll get him right and it was not an ACL injury so that's a good thing but it was still some pretty severe damage in there. We're going to miss him.""
