    Kansas City to host 2012 MLS SuperDraft January 12
    Impact to have the 1st overall selection

    [IMG]

    The 2012 MLS SuperDraft will be the thirteenth annual SuperDraft presented by Major League Soccer. It will be held on January 12, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (ET). The draft will be reduced from three rounds to two. The 19 MLS clubs will select a total of 38 players. The expansion Montreal Impact will have the first overall selection.

    The official selection order was set by Major League Soccer on October 21, 2011:

    1.2012 expansion team Montreal Impact receives the first selection;

    2.The eight clubs which do not qualify for the playoffs receive picks #2 through #9 (in reverse order of season points);

    3.The two clubs eliminated in the Wild Card round of playoffs receive picks #10 and #11 (in reverse order of season points);

    4.The four clubs eliminated in the Conference Semifinals receive picks #12 through #15 (in reverse order of season points);

    5.The two clubs eliminated in the Conference Finals receive picks #16 and #17 (in reverse order of season points);

    6.The club which loses the 2011 MLS Cup receives pick #18;

    7.The club which wins the 2011 MLS Cup receives pick #19.

    This selection order holds for both rounds of the MLS SuperDraft. The same order will be followed for the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft, which is scheduled on January 17, 2012.

    King's goal, Soldade's "Oh, wow" moment leave an impression

    As things wound down just after sunset, the players slowly boarded the bus back to the hotel to march through the lobby as spent and sweaty as their potential coaches did in the morning. I guess the circle remains unbroken.

    As for the two matches, the first was more entertaining than the last, with plenty of goals coming from both sides in the Team adiPower’s 3-2 win over Team PRIME.
