adidas side falls to Ajax in first match of tour
Duka and Hertzog on the mark, but not enough to beat Dutch powerhouse's reserve side

AMSTERDAM — After two days of training and attending the Ajax-Real Madrid Champions League match at Amsterdam Arena, the Generation adidas team played their first match of their Netherlands trip on Thursday and came up just a little short. A pair of late goals gave the Ajax reserve side a 4-2 victory over the visiting MLSers.

Generation adidas squad holds on for win at Volendam
Duka, Bruin, Salgado score in 3-2 victory at Dutch 2nd-division side

VOLENDAM, Netherlands – In the second match of their Dutch tour, the Generation adidas squad broke through for victory on Tuesday, holding on for a hard-earned 3-2 victory at second-division side FC Volendam despite finishing the game with 10 men.

Dilly Duka, Will Bruin and Omar Salgado scored for the MLS side, and they ended up needing all three goals in a game that turned frantic in the final 15 minutes.

Five days after falling to Ajax’s reserves, the Gen adidas squad again got on the board first. Kevin Alston was brought down on the right side of the area in the eighth minute after a quick combination of passes sprung him free. Duka’s ensuing free kick swerved around the wall and past Volendam goalkeeper Mitchel Michaelis for the young Columbus star’s second goal in as many games on the GA tour.
