I don't really see anyone on that team, outside of Rondo, that would be worthwhile for this team to go after. Ray Allen would be a nice addition but where would his minutes come from? We'd be swapping one expiring for another and it doesn't make much sense for us to do that right now. I think Boston is beyond reloading for another title run and they will want young talent for guys like Pierce, Garnett, and Allen.

The thing is, I don't think those three guys can bring back the kind of talent they want. At this point in their careers it's more likely that they will hook up with a contender as free agents in the offseason for a MLE or vet minimum.

I know everyone hates him. But I want KG. Even in his current broke state, he's a better C than anyone else on our roster. Too bad his contract is huge, though.

And if we could swap Crawful for Ray, I'd go absolutely nuts. Wes can come off the bench if that's the case for a few years.

Well, they could just trade Pierce and keep Ray and KG to let their contracts expire. They will have a ton of cap room that way. The problem then is: who's gonna sign in Boston? Try to think of the last time Boston signed a good FA from another team. It pretty much has never happened.

We could use a dirty player, tbh. I don't really like him either, but if he can instill some of that fire and dirty play into guys like LA and Nic, we could benefit in the future. Look at how he turned a no-talent Kendrick Perkins into a starting quality C that scares a lot of guys in the league. Imagine what he can do with our talented guys.

On the court, KG is a dog. Literally. But he's pretty nice off the floor.

I wouldn't mind KG, but his contract is too massive to match up with what we can realistically offer. He's valuable more for his attitude than his play these days. So yes, if he could mentor Batum, that would be awesome.

KG is one of those people who are actually good guys but make people hate them. Like our old pal Rasheed. KG is unbelievably competitive and incredibly loyal, not bad qualities for a player to have. He just gets a little bit insane on the court (barking like a dog?)

According to Mark Cuban, the new CBA makes cap space even more valuable. You don't have to sign anyone, you can just trade cap space for them.

We'd be willing to take Rondo off your hands. It seems like you're always trying to offload him...

Our team needs "shooters" and Rondo is our big get?

I think Rondo is a bad fit for our team.

Rondo found his niche by playing with Ray Allen and Paul Pierce and bigs who could knock down 18 footers (KG, Big Baby).

Rondo is a unique talent that has to be built around. He was just dumb ass lucky to be drafted by Boston who then traded for Ray and KG. For Rondo to be on a good team he needs to play with high caliber players who are top notch shooters.

Boston can't trade Paul Pierce for good value as he is on a monster deal. They are in a pretty big bind. Don't have the juice to retool. Can't trade their assets for enough to execute a quick rebuild with young talent. They are going to have to ride out this group into the sunset, or have a mult-year plan.

I don't want him that bad. Wes/Nic/LA are off the table.

That sounds great, but (and this is why I'm starting to hate the NBA) you need one or two superstar players to win a title, IMO. Those guys only get traded in the last year of their deal, and even if Boston lands one, they won't likely re-sign. I think the only way an undesirable market like Boston lands a superstar is by drafting one. The cap space will only get them guys that are barely difference makers.
