Texas extended an offer to some Oregon targets today including Kyle Hicks and Dontre Wilson.

Wilson had this quote per Max Olson (from ESPN longhorn network)

"Texas offered me and have moved up quite a bit.. but Oregon is still my dream offense."

Obviously Swoopes is athletically gifted. He's built like Vince Young or Terrelle Pryor with that 6'4" 220 pound frame. I'm just not sold on how well of a passer he is. His motion looks odd in the video (but it's hard to see). Not only that but I was looking at his stats for his Junior year and he only passed for 1394 yards, but rushed for 2267. Like Kelly has said we want quarterbacks who can run, not athletes that can pass sometimes ala Masoli.

I know he'd be a great get but just saying. I like J.T. Barrett more.


Also look out for Kenny Hill, Troy Williams, Cooper Bateman, and Khari McGee.

Barret and Swoops look great. I'm happy if we get either one, although Barret looks like a better passer. That's not to say that Swoops can't improve as one though

4 star QB Troy Williams I guess, didn't attend USC's junior day. He is a really good player and Justin said this about him today,

"He has certainly liked Oregon for a long time. If Oregon offers it's probably a done deal, unless SC offers too, which I think is doubtful, but who knows."

Based on his HS home field, he seems like a natural for Boise State.

Vanderdoes should just turn on a TV this fall and see the Ducks play football. If he wants a shot at the NFL, a Pac-12 education, and a great shot to play in BCS bowl games, Oregon should be for him, or even USC. If he wants to be pampered and paraded around and treated like a diva, he should play XBox online with guys like Tosh Lupoi and go to UW or Cal.

This wooing of kids over the interwebs and game consoles by coaches/fans/boosters is ridiculous, IMO.

Knock yourself out, then. I just think it's dumb of fans to do it, because pretty soon, fake fans pretending to be from a school will open accounts and will start to work from that angle as well. That already happened with a fan pretending to be an Oregon fan on Twitter this month, didn't it? That account got deleted, but the "Duck" fan was harassing Shaq Thompson on Twitter.

Don't know. Never saw anything before he committed and stopped following after he committed to Washington. I did see a USC fan slamming Arik because he was most likely not going there. Anyways, I've seen alot of people tweeting him (eddie vanderdoes) to go to their school. I think he's more interested in Cal and UCLA.. but I would definitely feel comfortable saying he has high interests in Oregon.

A recent quote from Max via rivals..."Oregon has always been a school I have a lot of interest in," replied Redfield. "They are at the top of my list along with USC. Pretty much the program they've had over the past years, the beautiful campus and the facilities they have are all attractive to me."

To me Oregon recruiting is fascinating now. Along with the current national prominence, we are at a "generation" now of High School recruits who have grown up with Oregon making buzz, and making the news around their most impressionable ages as children.

Its hard to explain I guess, but before Oregon not only would have to fight the USC's of the world due to location, and prestige, but also recruits grew up not knowing much about Oregon because they were bad for so long.

It just fascinates me I guess, to read those comments from recruits saying "Oregon has always been a school I am insterested in" or things along those lines.

Forget all this Tweeting BS for recruits!!! Kick USC ass on their field, have the Mamba step into a 180 yard 4 touch game against them, and put Barkley on his ass! Then crush Stanford and UW by 30... If you don't wont to play for the Ducks after that..... who needs ya!!

As far as I'm concerned the OOO is a privilege to play for... When we turn into Beggin Lamo Kiffin and the US Cash boys to get 5* recruits this program has become cheapened! We've beaten USC 2-3 years without any 5* recruits and beat them badly.... that should say something as well!
