"We are like tenant farmers chopping down the fence around our house for fuel when we should be using Nature's inexhaustible sources of energy -- sun, wind and tide. ... I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that."
-Thomas Edison, inventor (1847-1931)
The pick is now #4 after tonight's games.

If they are the #4 their odds aren't even 40%. Rounding up 50% does not seem correct.

I like being 5th for jersey. That's a decent pick

From what I understand, if we don't get their pick this year, then we get next Year's lottery protects to 1-2. So if the Blazers have a plan B to package this pick with players, we still might be fine if we don't get this summer's NJ pick. They are not getting Howard next year, so I don't see how they'll be much better next season.
I think we'll package the NJ pick plus to trade for Rondo.

Kendall Marshall on fire in the first half

"All the way back to that May evening in 2007, when the Rookie of the Year stepped onto a Secaucus stage and brought back the No. 1 pick, Brandon Roy never lost sight of the truth. Maybe Oden, the glum center, will become a ferocious force for the Blazers, but the most improbable truth of that draft lottery turned out to be this: Before those ping-pong balls ever bounced Portland’s way, the Blazers already had themselves a franchise player."

Marshal looks good in the first half my only worry is his defensive quickness but he looks great out there. I kind of want him maybe with our pick.
"In the end it all comes down to talent. You can talk all you want about intangibles, I just don't know what that means. Talent makes winners, not intangibles. Can nice guys win? Sure, nice guys can win - if they're nice guys with a lot of talent. Nice guys with a little talent finish fourth and nice guys with no talent finish last." -- Sandy Koufax

Stalk me on my blog.
Gerald playing really well today, but Nets still losing.
I'm worried they are going to lose there way into the top 3!

Man this Irving kid is amazing. Reminds me Brandon with his poise.
Tie game 4 mins left.
Oh freaking rookie call. Carry? Really refs? That was an amazing move by Irving.
Still tie game 1min left.
What I'm starting to look for after watching more college ball these last few years than ever before, is for guys that make the game easy. I don't care about guys like Jimmer who take and make ridiculous shots in college. Because that skill doesn't transfer to the NBA. The guys that can get layups in traffic and lull defenses to sleep (like Lamb or Rivers) are the ones that are more likely to have success in the NBA.
Cavs up 6. Freakin Nets are gonna lose their way into the top 3.
So I'm confused here. Will NJ even send anyone to the lottery to stand in in-case the pick becomes top 3? Say they end up with the 4th worst record (and 4th best chance of landing #1), will they have a representative there, or will it just be us?
