The NBA draft still has a lottery, right? It's not anything yet.

With our luck, they'll get the third pick or they'll make the playoffs.

I was reading another message board, and all the nets fans seem to be really pissed about this trade. They hate the idea of giving up a lottery pick for Gerald Wallace. I would be too, knowing how Gerald seems to be at the end of his prime.

I'd trade a lotto pick for a prime GW though, no doubt...he was a good player.

Gerald was one of my favorite players before we acquired him. That changed this year with his inconsistent play and supposed disrespect toward Nate.

I missed it. What did he say? Is there a link? (I'll probably agree with it.)

I have no doubt that with them moving to Brooklyn that they will somehow land in the top three for this draft

given no lottery pick and their primary goal of convincing deron to stay, i think it's much more likely they'll make the playoffs than win a top 3 spot. they pretty much have huge motivation to try to win every game now.

also if lopez comes back in reasonable shape and with wallace they have what looks like one of the better starting lineups in the east, at least on paper. wouldn't surprise me if they turned things around.

Only have 22 games left, though, and they're 4.5 back now. The team in the #8 seed significantly improved from not having their starting C to getting a borderline all star back in Monta. It won't be easy for NJ to make the playoffs.

Based on their remaining schedule, it looks like they'll play about .500 ball from here on out. That would put them around the 8-10 spot.
