I'm starting to think we'd be fools to not go after him this summer. He's a free agent and shouldn't command crazy money. Plus he'd probably be very interested in a situation like ours - a decent team in which he gets to start & play big minutes. The kid seems to always get stuck behind a stud PG (Nash, Lowry) but shines when he gets the chance. In 11 starts this year, he's averaging 16.6 pts, 9.5 ast, 2.0 3pt and 1.8 steals. And he's only 25!

Am I missing something here? Does he play the worst defense in the league or something?

There's going to be a supply and demand problem this summer between too many teams that need a competent point and not enough free agents to fill the void, so Dragic will almost definitely be overpaid but I like him well enough. He's kind of a score first guy but he sees the floor pretty well and he's got good size. I'd offer him 8 million a year for four years.

Was about to make a post on him today too. I think he's definitely someone we should look at, but with Rondo, D. Williams, and Kendall Marshall all being possibilities, does Goran beat any of them? Is he a plan D? Or E?

I'm all for offering Dwill the max, or trying to trade for Rondo. But Dragic is much more realistic. I think Marshall would be an interesting guy to look at in the draft, but I doubt he's ready to start. We could always do both Dragic and Marshall.

I think he's gonna be expensive. I'm talking 11-12 mil per. If you guys are fine with that, then we could get him.

Who in the hell wants to offer Dragic 8-12 million per year? That is ridiculous money for him and I would be pissed if we offered him anything near either of those amounts. 4-5 million per year sure, but 8-12 million is overpaying. While we are at it why don't we resign Batum for the 10 million per year he wants and continue in mediocrity for the next 4-5 years.

I hope he's on the front office's radar. I'd love to pick him up

Dragic's a baller. I think he's much more attainable than the other names that are thrown out there. Lets make a run for him!

Take a look at the going rate for good veteran point guards ... you really think Steve Blake money is going to get anything done?

every poster who has waded in besides you seems to like him quite a bit. Add me to the list.

good size, athletic, solid jumper, pass first and he'll be 26 next season...

I like Goran a lot, but I would be shocked if he got 10 mil a year. (8-9 maybe)

When did I ever say I didn't like him? I do like Dragic. But overpaying role players is laughable.

If it doesn't then he can move along. Tying up $8 million a year in Dragic in this CBA is laughable. I'm sure you could get Jeremy Lin (who I can't stand), Ramon Sessions, or even George Hill for less than $8 million a year.

For the record, I would give Dragic $4-6 million per year at most.

Please explain to me how he is worth more than that? Should we just throw money around to random potential guys and hope one turns into a good player? Does he really deserve more than say, we paid Andre Miller a few years ago? Cause thats laughable.

If Miller hadn't been 34 when we gave him a contract he never would have signed for as little as he did ... and Dragic is better than you give him credit for.

In his 9 starts since Lowry went out, Goran is averaging 37.4 min, 17.0 pts on 51% from the field, making 2.1 3's a game at a 46% clip, 9.6 Assists offset by 3.6 TO's and 1.9 steals. Average that all year and he probably makes an All NBA Team. How long has it been since any Blazer starting PG has averaged those sorts of numbers over 9 games? I'm thinking back to TP. I thought GD looked like a real nice prospect in Phoenix and am not surprised at all that he's crushing in his first real shot... picked him up on the fantasy team right after I heard about Lowry being out :)

it's a ways out to debate the options of what to do with the cap space and such, but throwing out my best guess today is that Goran should be a main target on the radar. They need someone who can create off the dribble and Dragic can for himself and others. 8M per sounds pretty sweet really
