Hmm. Sounds like this team is a disaster, following the same route as last year as they would explode in the second half and miss the playoffs by a game or so.
Headed to the playoffs and first round exit
No playoffs
Late second surge but still miss the playoffs
Who gives a shit?
The game against Chivas was horrible.
This made me crack up. Timbers fell to #18 in the power rankings.
or this from mlssoccer.18. Portland - With all the emotional distress and mental issues surfacing in the locker room, this group should be scheduling appointments with Dr. Phil and Oprah - maybe even Jerry Springer - after yet another late-game collapse and gut-wrenching loss.
Is there a more frustrated man in the league than John Spencer right now? His big-name DP striker has bagged two, but blown twice that many. His midfield can't string passes together, and his defense can't make a big play when they need to.
This season has no structure or composure. I vouch this team won't win a game on the road and will only tie.
Spencer can't make the excuse that the field was in poor condition against Montreal, the team is in bad condition and has no offense and game plan.
Spencer also says the team didn't play well today, another lame excuse. You are in the MLS, the players need to make an effort.

The season is done and John Spencer will be canned after this season.
damn I shoulda sold my season tickets if the season was done!![]()
To break this Woe, Timbers need to take on the following teams to get any shot at another win.
May 15 @ Houston (2-2-2 8pts) (5/9 game vs NY Bulls (5-3-1 16pts)
May 20 vs Chicago (3-2-2 9pts) (5/9 game vs RSL (7-3-1 22pts)
These are two winnable games if Spencers new lineup change will work and they have 10 days off if this new system will work.
@ Houston I think I'll be happy with a point. Baby steps no the road. And Houston threw us around last year with their physicality.
I sure hope Merritt and Spencer read the MLS power rankings. Heres week 9 MLS report. This statement downright hurts!
Then if you look further north.....Bottom of the West, dropping results at home left and right, seven points out of the playoff hunt and the teams ahead of them getting stronger by the week. This is a nightmare from which John Spencer & Co. desperately need to wake.
Vancouver Whitecaps 5-2-2 (Just beat San Jose 2-1 at home)
Seattle Sounders FC 6-1-1 (Edge PHI 1-0 at home)
Perhaps Merritt and Spencer should look at those team managements and see why they are having much better success with their rosters.
Re: Vancouver... They could say the same thing about us this year. Name of the game. (Although I agree we need a Technical Director with MLS Savvy IMO)
Re: Seattle... They have players like Montero, and Jaqua on their squad. I'd rather not look anything like that with those scumbags. Oh and LeFeck.
Point on the road.. yes please
Palmer is the current version of Blanky for Spencer. Why he is on the pitch... let alone even sniffing the armband I have no idea.
Can the Timbers afford to wait till after the season to fire Spencer?
I just want to see a goal . . .

With the win over Seattle can the Timbers get a tie against a Chicago team that has been struggling lately. A first win on the road for the Timbers would be a better milestone for this troubled season.
we play Colorado on Saturday
Bumpity Bump Bump
Wow, 19 shots compared to Chivas 8 . Can this team even hit the net, I guess not?
Another 1-0 loss at Jeld-Wen.
Timbers drop to 5-12-4 (19 pts)
Chivas improve to 7-8-5 (26 pts)
2 goals on the road for first time in MLS!!!
Baby steps.
and what about his defense??? He is a Defender after all.
